This work is an experimental conceptual photography using the technique of film scanning to create new ways and dimensions of image. Actually this technique is called Scanography which has been used for a long time since artists started using scanners. I have been a street photographer who wasn’t familiar with this technique before. So I was very impressed when I’ve seen these kinds of works and thought that it would be great if this would be applied to my work.
“Separation” depicts a lack of my family’s picture because my father and mother have separated without divorce since my teenage. Also my brother was brought to Ayutthaya to live with his mother's family since childhood. So we don’t have much normal family’s time together which mostly they spend life with their own families. Obviously it made us like strangers to each other, these kinds of stories are behind “Separation” series. This work has been developed by making them separated, distorted, and like overlapped dimensions of past - present - future which recalls me, including the audiences, about what is happening in our families nowadays.
